Parental and other community members' involvement is critical to student success and therefore is an essential component of the school. Parental involvement in school matters is an integral and required part of the philosophy and operation of RSA. RSA will establish a school organization (PVO) that will include parents, teachers, students and the community members involved in the school. This organization will function to assist, suggest, recommend, inform, and consult in the preparation of and implementation of the school's improvement plans. This organization will also elect the members to serve on the School Advisory Committee. Among a sampling of parental involvement will include, but will not be limited to:
- Parents will attend parent conferences and open houses designed to keep communication and active involvement;
- Parents' remarks, comments, and suggestions will be heard during regular board meetings;
- The school web-site will offer online feedback system for students, parents, or community members to provide ideas, concerns, or comments to the school and staff any time;
- Parents will be encouraged to volunteer with their child's teacher and/or be involved in other ways in school activities; and
- Parents will serve on various committees such as the school beautification committee, academic enrichment committees, olympiad committee, public relations committee, etc.
